Worldview vs God

What is a worldview? Worldview really describes itself quite well! Worldview is how or what a person sees and desires in the world. There are many differences in today’s challenging American worldviews. What is YOUR worldview? Are YOU focused on Jesus and serving Him? Are you standing for the Truth of God’s Word . . . OR are you a hypocrite (Mat.23), that goes along with the world and are a Christian in name only? Do YOU love the world more than God? The vast majority of people do (Mat.7:13-14). Do you not know that TRUE Christians are supposed to be separate from the world? (2 Cor.6:17).

There is absolutely NO way you can run away from theses Scriptures! You cannot escape the sobering reality of these words. Do YOU love the world, and what it offers? If so, the love of the Father is NOT in you.

Matthew 6:19-21 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. We should not lust for or store up short-lived treasures here on Earth. Costly garments can be eaten by moths, things we collect can get rusty, and thieves can break in and steal what you have (Job 27:16; Job 13:28; Isaiah 50:9; 51:8). In James 5:2 there is an obvious reference to our Lord's words. All earthly, temporal treasures are quite uncertain.

When I consider our Lord’s marvelous teaching, I am simply in awe! How utterly wise He is! He NEVER leads us astray! Ever! Spiritual treasures are indestructible and inaccessible to thieves (Col. 3:2). What are spiritual treasures? They are anything that you do for the cause of Christ! (1 Cor.3:10-17). Quite the opposite of what the world considers treasure, riches! If you hoard money in the bank, and you have uncountable possessions that keep mounting . . . WHERE is your heart? Quite simple! It is with your treasure . . . NOT on God, where it should be!

There is nothing wrong with having wealth. Many righteous people in Bible were wealthy. It is NOT money that is evil, it is the LOVE of money that is evil (1 Tim.6:10). BUT . . . what a person loves, THAT is his god.

Gal. 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (KJV)
Eph. 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. (KJV)
1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; (KJV)

We must not love the world, nor the things the world offers us. If a person loves the world, the love of our awesome Creator God is not in him or her. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life, is NOT from our loving God, but is from the world . . . offered to us by Satan. Dear one, if you love the world and what it offers . . . the awesome love of God is not in you! TRUTH!!!

Phil. 3:18-21 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (KJV)

This world is not our home, we (ALL humans) are simply passing through. A Christian’s treasures are in Heaven (Mat.6:19-21, above). What are spiritual treasures? They are ANYTHING that you do for the cause of Christ! (1 Cor.3:10-17). This totally opposes what the world considers treasure and riches!

Are you looking forward to YOUR new, eternal Home? I certainly am! I don’t have many more days here on Earth. I have long passed my threescore years and ten. Psalm 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. (KJV)
The vast majority of people in the world NEVER even think of ETERNITY, but God clearly states that our souls are ETERNAL. Our body shall die . . . but our soul lives on, in one of two places . . . Heaven OR Hell! And dear one, no one ever goes to Hell except those who CHOOSE to go there. John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. (KJV)
Did you read this . . . carefully? Jesus did NOT say CANNOT, He said WILL NOT. The CHOICE is yours.

People REFUSE to own Jesus, REFUSE to embrace Him and REFUSE to receive Him as the TRUE Messiah and Saviour of the world. Such a dreadful mistake! Then and now! The Bible, God's Holy Words, clearly state that JESUS is the ONLY WAY to Heaven and eternal life in His Home with Him!
John 3:15-18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJV)
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)
1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. We can obtain eternal life only when we truly seek after, and rightly think that the Scripture alone can show you the way to it. Check out the following web sites.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)

God has plans for His children. He wants us to be transformed people with renewed minds, He wants us to live by honoring and obeying Him. It is because He wants only what is best for us, and because He gave His Son to make our new lives possible, we should gladly give ourselves as living sacrifices for His service. And we must never forget to honor and praise Him for all He does for us. Heb.13:15-16 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (KJV)
We should offer Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise. He certainly is worthy of that! A "sacrifice of praise" today would include thanking Jesus for His once for all Sacrifice on the cross and telling others about it. Acts of kindness and sharing are especially pleasing to God, even [and maybe especially] when they go unnoticed by others. A child of God is a priest today (1 Peter 2:9), and can bring sacrifices to God.
There are four sacrifices of a believer.

#1. You can sacrifice yourself (Rom.12:1). When you sincerely give yourself to the Lord, all other giving is easy.
#2. You can sacrifice your purse (2 Cor.8:1-5). If He does not have your purse, He does not have you.
#3. You can offer the sacrifice of praise, which we find in this verse.
#4. And you can offer the sacrifice of doing good (good works), which we find in verse 16.

We are not to conform any longer to the world. We must decide that worldly behavior is off limits for us. We must never put on an outward show of something that does not come from deep within us. When we are “born again” (John 1:12-13; 3:3-8), our hearts and minds change. Our outward display SHOULD represent our inner self, our heart . . . or we are what Jesus called “hypocrites” (Mat.23). When we accept Christ, we allow God to transform us into a new person, and He changes the way we feel, think, talk and act. It does not take long to learn just how good and pleasing and perfect His will for us really is.

Are YOU conformed to the world? Have YOU adopted the world’s way of dress? Have YOU adopted the world’s way of speech? What about the world’s love of money? Do YOUR goals go along with those of the world . . . fame, power, success and wealth? Dear one, it is a horrible dishonor for a child of God to be one of the world’s favorites! May it be a forewarning to you . . . IF the world shouts “Well done” to any of God’s children! Dear one, have NO friendship with a blind and corrupt world that hates and ridicules our Creator God and His only begotten Son.

The brother of Jesus expressed this in very piercing language: James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (KJV)

Are YOU a friend of the world? Are YOU comfortable with what the world offers in music, movies, television programs and bestselling books? Friendship with the world is hostility toward God! James uses strong language, saying that those who are friendly with the world are spiritual adulterers.

Read what the apostle John states: 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. We must understand what John means by the “world.” He is not talking about the Creation, this Earth. What John means is the world system that is headed by Satan. Before we go any further, let me assure you that there is a devil! He is alive and well (Job 1:12; 2:7; Mat.4:1; 25:41; John 8:44; 13:2; 1 Peter 5:8). John says if we “love the world” God’s love is NOT in us. WHY? Because loving the world and what is offered by the devil is the complete opposite of what God wants for us. God wants us to love HIM! ALL characteristics of worldliness are ungodly:

#1. Lust . . . this is gratifying your physical desires; food, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, sex, etc.
#2. Materialism . . . craving and accumulating things: cars, jewelry, real estate, anything that the Jones’ have.
#3. Pride . . . this is being obsessed with your status and/or importance or power or fame. Eve was tempted in the Garden in these three areas (Gen.3:6), just as was Jesus in the wilderness (Mat.4:1-11). We must NOT be like Eve . . . do NOT give in to temptation, but be like Jesus and resist . . . He will help you!

All worldly things: evil desires, the mad craze for illicit sex, wanting to buy any and all that appeals to you, pride that boosts your ego, that comes from wealth, power and fame; NONE of these are from God. They all are from the devil! Beware!
We as TRUE Christians should not “love the world” nor the things in it . . . we must NOT lust after them, nor belong to it. Our fellowship and attachment should be to God and the good things He offers that are eternal, NOT this evil world system that will one day be gone. If we do the “will of God,” we shall live forever. So-ooo . . . what is the “will of God”? It is willing obedience to Him. It is loving Him. It is always giving Him honor and glory, in ALL things!

There is no way to escape the sobering reality of these words. IF you love the world . . . the love of the Father is NOT in you!

We live as “aliens and strangers” in this world (1 Pet.2:11). The Book of Hebrews states we live as “strangers and exiles” (Heb.11:13). The apostle Paul states: Phil. 3:19-21 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (KJV)

We should not set our minds on things of the Earth, for our citizenship is in heaven. Paul also said:
Rom. 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (KJV)

The STORM (Tribulation) is very nearby! TRUE watchmen are shouting their warnings that Jesus is at the very edge of Heaven, ready to return and catch away the Church in the Rapture (1 Thes.4:13-18) . . . and then dear one . . . God’s judgment shall be revealed in horrific Tribulation Period. Are you ready? Are you looking forward to going up in the sky to be with Jesus, so you do not have to go through the Tribulation? (Rev.3:10; 1 Thes.1:10; 5:9).
Rapture Scriptures: Mat.24:37-51; 25:1-13; Lk.12:36-40; 21:34-36; 1 Cor.15:51-55; 1 Jn.2:28; 3:2; 1 Pet.5:4; Jam.5:7-8.

An inmate sent the following to me years ago. He did not tell me where he got it. It explains our two natures quite well, and it goes quite well with this article!

TWO WOLVES

One day an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.
One is evil. It is anger, arrogance, blasphemy, ego, false pride, greed, guilt, hatred, jealousy, lies, malice, regret, resentment, sorrow and superiority.
The other is good. It is love, faith, joy, peace, hope, gentleness, goodness, humility, kindness, compassion, benevolence, mercy, forgiveness, patience and self-control."
The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"
The wise old Indian answered, "The one that you feed."

We must be very careful which wolf we feed!

Consider this one last thought: Divine justice will NOT spare a sinner who knows to do right, agrees it is right, and says that he will do it, but instead he loves evil so much and gives it top place in his heart.
