Selfism Extremists Do Not
Know Where to Stop
What is the cost? If Selfism prevails over Spirit in the battle for the hearts of America’s youth, what then? Christians know the answer! The Book of Revelations tells us. A scary movie is not nearly as scary the second time you watch it because you know the evil villain gets what’s coming to him. BUT . . . unbelievers across our country and world, are fighting for a prize they think they can win . . . self-preservation.
Do people really think that rights and privileges accompany self-preservation? Do they really think that a life without the Spirit of God means a guilt-free existence? Do they really think that they have a license to live however they want to live? Selfism accepts no absolutes because morality is an absolute. Successfully defending the right to define one’s own moral code removes the need for a non-believer’s most detested absolute . . . forgiveness.
Morality Is Absolute, and Progresses
God's Holy Word is in the Bible. And dear one, whether you like it or not, in the end, it is final! But to get to the final, supreme meaning of these words is something yet to be worked out.
I believe that morality is absolute [complete, total]. There are standards in our world that tell us how things should be. These morals or standards tell us that there are some things that are ALWAYS right and certain other things are ALWAYS wrong.
Because I am a born-again Christian, I seriously look to God’s Sacred Book to tell me WHAT those absolute values are. My faith in Jesus binds me to God’s Book, BOTH the Old Testament [the Torah] and the New Testament. This majestic Book has never failed me, and will NEVER lead anyone astray! I search daily for God’s standards for me, and for His will in my life, so that I may live in loving fellowship with my awesome Triune God.
In this case, my religious beliefs and basic human instincts totally agree. As a Christian, I KNOW that God has certain expectations of me, since He chose me ‘before the foundation of the world.’ Eph 1:4-6 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (KJV)
I feel deep down that certain things can never be right in any place or at any time and that there are rules of morality that apply to all humankind; and I feel certain that the majority of the human race feels as I do.
The world certainly does not lack waverers. For these people such matters are socially determined, and we can do nothing but suggest that something is acceptable or not according to the particular nation, group or culture. Civilized people everywhere know that taking a life or abusing a child is always wrong. So, since that is the case, should it not be so that other things should always be right? As for me, I shall continue to search for right standards, using God’s Holy Word to guide me. Standards or values are not fads or fashions; they do not change every day.
