HOW Do We Overcome Temptation and Sin?
Flood Your Mind and Heart with the Word of God!

If you really want to gain victory over sin in your life, then you must start to hide the Word of God in your heart. You must meditate and memorize Scriptures. You KNOW where it is that you are weak. Meditate and memorize several Scriptures to help you when those temptations pop up . . . for they will come! For instance, consider the following Passages if you have a problem with sexual lust. You should keep these Scriptures on your mind continually.

Galatians 5:16-21 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Peter 2:11-12 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. (KJV)
1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. IF we truly want to have victory over sin, our minds should be flooded or saturated with the Word of God. His Word should be as tasty to our souls, as honey is to our lips. Psalm 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (KJV) . . . Sad to say, most people would much rather have a box of donuts over God's Word!

Mark 10:29-30 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. (KJV) . . . May I say this to you . . . we ALL will leave this world one day. We do NOT know when God will reach out and take us away . . . whether we are TRUE believers and children of God OR unbelievers and children of the devil (1 John 3:10). What will matter is: TRUE believers will go to Heaven because Jesus has the only key. BUT . . . if you are not saved, Jesus will NOT open Heaven’s gate for you. Hell waits for you.

It does NOT have to be like that! You can receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. Sin has alienated ALL mankind from God, and there is NO hope whatsoever for humanity apart from the cross of Jesus Christ. You are a GUILTY sinner, on your way to everlasting Hell because of your sins without JESUS! You MUST have your sins forgiven, and only Jesus Christ, the One Who has the nail-scared Hands and Feet can forgive you.
