JUDGMENT
DAY COMING
God’s Perfect Judgment
“God loves the sinner, but hates the sin.” We’ve heard this many times by evangelicals, maybe we’ve even said it ourselves. The Bible does NOT make that exact statement, but it is true. Scripture tells us that “…God so loved the world…” (Jn.3:16) and Jesus told us to “love your enemies” (Mat.5:44). God’s love for mankind is one of the major themes in the entire Bible, and “love” is certainly the greatest of all attributes.
The Bible is very clear about God’s love for His Creation, BUT . . . it is just as clear in stating His hatred for sin. God, through His Holy Word and His only begotten Son and the prophets and the apostles, pronounces horrific doom and judgment upon ALL sin and wickedness. The Bible gives us many Old Testament examples of God dealing harshly with those who took lightly His law and commandments. Continuing into the New Testament, God brought great fear to the new Church by the open killing of Ananias and Sapphira for their sin of lying to God, the Holy Spirit (Acts 5). Paul makes it very clear that as believers, we should judge ourselves so that we should not be condemned with the world. 1 Cor. 11:31-32 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. (KJV)
Can we reconcile these two opposing forces (love and hate; good and evil)? How can God love all people, but still declare certain “doom” on those who do not repent of their sin?
There is NO doubt in my mind that God will one day absolutely put an end to every wicked thought, motive, and deed . . . but . . . “Will God also put an end to the unrepentant sinner who is guilty of these sins?” Many in today's new churches don't think so!
IF God “damns” the unrepentant sinner, HOW can He love all people? Does He love “sinners” UNTIL He pronounces His judgment? “God loves the sinner, but hates the sin,” WHAT does this mean? Most of today's modern, seeker-friendly churches today preach and teach peace and love, NO God's wrath, NO judgment of Hell. Are they right? NO! Not according to God's Holy Word! I BELIEVE God's Word! ALL of it . . . from Gen.1:1 to Rev.22:21! Far too many of today's smiley faced, smooth talking preachers are moving away from the Truth of God's Word. They use modern 'bibles' that in my humble opinion are altered, corrupted, distorted and/or perverted! I use the KJV, because to me it states more Truth than any of the others, with none of the omissions of the newer ones.
So, are the “old timey” church preachers right when they say that most people (Mat.7:13-14) will be “damned” (Mk.16:16; Rom.14:23; 2 Thes.2:12) forever with absolutely no hope for salvation? I must stay with this old timey bunch, because in my heart I KNOW they are RIGHT!
1 Cor.2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (KJV) . . . Natural = sensual, worldly minded, the unredeemed person. I believe most of today's churches have rejected and denied the TRUE doctrine of never-ending punishment. Jesus tells us “he who ears . . let him hear,” (Mat.11:15; 13:9,43) and when they HEAR, they will learn the Truth of God’s love and His judgments.
Does God Contradict Himself?
God CANNOT contradict Himself! Consider the following. Jesus told the multitudes: Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. (KJV) . . . Is Jesus really telling us to hate our loved ones? NO! Absolutely NOT!! We are to “honor our father and mother” and “love our neighbor as ourselves” (Eph.6:1-3; Mat.7:12; 22:36-40; Rom.13:8-10; Gal.5:14). SO . . . what does Jesus mean in Luke 14:26? Does Jesus Words contradict all the other “love” passages in the Bible? NO! Absolutely NOT! What He is trying to get across to us is for us to love God far more and above all our earthly loved ones. We are to 'love less' our father and mother . . . love them less than we love God. Hate in that Passage means to love less.
John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. (KJV) . . . Does Jesus really mean for us to physically EAT His Flesh? And to physically drink His Blood? NO! Absolutely Not! That would make us cannibals! Jesus was NOT talking about physical food, but spiritual food! Roman Catholics actually teach that during the Mass the bread and wine are literally turned into the body and blood of Christ.
Just as there are two sides to every coin, there are TWO sides to God: the fiery God of wrath and judgment, and God's love as demonstrated in the sending of His only begotten Son (John 3:16). Anyone who believes otherwise is WRONG according to the Bible.
2 Thes.1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (KJV) . . . To me, this is SO clear! IF anyone refuses to obey The Gospel of Jesus Christ, shall be punished with everlasting destruction. In my humble opinion, separation from the goodness of God, from His awesome Presence and from His glorious power IS Hell!
I CANNOT agree with those who say that this Passage does NOT speak of the eternal torture of unrepentant sinners, but means the everlasting destruction of the old nature and its evil deeds? They are WRONG! We are to take the Bible literally unless it clearly states symbolism. This Passage is literal!
Let there be NO doubt that God SHALL destroy the wicked and all his evil works! Psalms 145:20 The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. (KJV) Psalms 7:9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins. (KJV) . . . HOW can God judge the sinner . . . yet not contradict He loves ALL people??? The answer to this question is really simple, but is understood by so few! We simply must BELIEVE God! 1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV) . . . IF anyone insists on calling God a "liar" by refusing to believe Him and rejecting His Son Jesus, judgment awaits and the eternal verdict will NOT be pleasant! (John 3:18,36; 8:24).
When we believe God and accept His Son, we become God's friends! Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. (KJV) . . . We ALL were once by nature, children of wrath (Eph. 2:3), children of the devil (1 Jn.3:10) and the children of disobedience, (Eph. 2:2), and without Jesus, we ARE enemies of the Cross of Christ (Phil. 3:18). Just that simple my friend!
Col.1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. (KJV) . . . Only Christ Jesus can reconcile all things (remove all enmity) to the Father by the Blood of His Cross.
God’s purpose for judgment is to destroy ALL the evil works in this wicked world.
The pride, self-will and stubbornness of man refusing to believe God (1 John 5:10-12), and their rejection of His one and only Plan of Salvation (John 6:68; 11:25-26; 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 John 5:20) will one day come before God’s righteous and perfect judgment. It will be through this judgment, that will come forth the “restoration of all things” (Acts 3:21) as every created thing will be brought to a full knowledge of God through the Cross of Jesus Christ. Phil.2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV) . . . Also see: Isa.45:23; Rom.14:11.
Let us all have wisdom to bow our knees NOW to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Eph.3:14-19 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. (KJV) . . . Anyone who refuses to do so today, shall do it at the Judgment! It is YOUR decision! Heaven OR Hell! Only two roads. Only two places in eternity! Where are you going?
