The JEWS, ISRAEL
(1). Israel (the Jews), have the Promise of God’s blessing.
Genesis 12:1-2 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: (KJV)
(2). We OWE Israel (the Jews), for the Bible and JESUS.
Romans 3:2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God. (KJV) Romans 9:4-5 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; 5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. (KJV)
(3). Our Lord Jesus was/is a Jew.
Genesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. (KJV)
Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. (KJV)
Matthew 13:54-55 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? 55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? (KJV
Luke 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, (KJV)
John 4:9-10 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. (KJV)
Hebrews 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. (KJV)
(4). Salvation is of the Jews, only through Jewish JESUS!
John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)
John 14:6-7 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. (KJV)
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (KJV)
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)
(5). Israel has priority in God’s Plan.
Deut. 7:7-8 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: 8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. (KJV)
Isaiah 42:6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; (KJV)
Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. (KJV)
The Messiah, the Servant’s work is world-wide. It is not only for the benefit of the people of Israel; it is for the Gentiles too.
(6). End times prophecies revolve around the Jews.
Regathering of the Jews. (Ps.147:2; Isa.11:10-12; 56:8; Jer.32:37)
Re-establishment of Israel. (Isa.66:7-8)
Recovery of the land of Israel. (Eze.36:34-36)
Revival of Biblical Hebrew. (Jer.31:23; Zep.3:9)
Re-occupation of Jerusalem. (Luke 21:24; Rom.11:25)
Resurgence of the Israeli military. (Zec.12:6)
Re-focusing of world politics on Israel. (Zec.12:3)
Russian to threaten Israel. (Eze.38 & 39)
Arab threats Israel. (Eze.35 & 36)
The revival of Messianic Judaism. (Rom.9:27)
(7). The Old Testament is the history of the Jews: (the Shekinah; the Covenants; the Law, the service of God; God’s Promises). Shekinah not in Bible, it means God’s Presence.
Exodus 13:21-22 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: 22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. (KJV)
Romans 9:4-5 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. (KJV)
(8). The 12 apostles were Jews, then Jesus added Paul. See Acts 9.
(9). In the Bible, all directions are North, East, South or West of Jerusalem.
All directions in the Bible, point outward from God’s City (Jerusalem). Jerusalem is the geographical center of the world.
Psalm 48:1-2 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. 2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. (KJV)
Ezekiel 5:5 Thus saith the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her. (KJV)
Isaiah 2:2-3 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.(KJV) Jerusalem is very SPECIAL to our God!
(10). The Jews (Israel) CANNOT be destroyed. GOD says Israel is here to stay!
Jeremiah 31:35-37 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: 36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. 37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. (KJV) . . . This covenant will never be changed or repealed. Just as we cannot change the course of the sun or the moon or pull it out of the sky, so His covenant with Israel cannot be changed. God says this is an everlasting covenant that He made with them.
(11). When the Jews were first called Jews.
2 Kings 16:6 At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drave the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day. (KJV)
(12). Gospel was to start in Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47).
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (KJV)
Matthew 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. (KJV)
Acts 3:25-26 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. (KJV)
The Jews (Israel) are God’s time clock. The fig tree is not only budding but starting to bring fruit. Mat. 24:32-35 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (KJV)
Israel is the most important land in the news today. Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (KJV) . . . Do YOU bless Israel? Or, do you curse Israel?
Israel, the Jews are the nations of the world’s greatest problem. Zec. 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zec. 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. (KJV)
Paul always brought the Gospel to the Jews first. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (KJV) Romans 2:9-11 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God. (KJV)
He did this in each journey, and when they rejected it, he then took it to the Gentiles. Paul always gave the Jews priority.
Our Lord Jesus also went to the Jews first. Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. (KJV) . . . He was speaking to Jews there . . . THEN, we come to the next Chapter! I think Jesus got fed up with those Jews who were downgrading Him, especially the rulers and Pharisees.
Matthew 13:1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. (KJV)
The same day Jesus went out of the house . . . Jesus was in a literal house, before He went to the sea side (verse 36), but I also think that we must consider the symbolism used here. "The same day went Jesus out of the house" . . . house speaks of the house of Israel. "And sat by the sea side" . . . the sea represents the Gentile nations. This symbolism is also used elsewhere in Scripture (Ex.40:38; Eze.3:17; Isa.17:12-13; Rev.13:1). Our Lord is leaving the nation of Israel and turning to the world (Gentiles). He is now speaking of what will take place in the world until He returns as King. This is a huge change that has taken place in His method.
