God Hides His Face From You Because of Sin.
Leviticus 20:1-3 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, [2] Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. [3] And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. (KJV)
Sacrificing children to the gods was a common practice in ancient religions. Child sacrifice to Molech (their national god) was an important part of the Ammonite’s religion. They thought that this was the greatest gift they could offer to Molech to stay on his good side. God made it very clear that this practice was detestable and strictly forbidden.

In Old Testament times as well as New, God’s character made human sacrifice unthinkable.
- Unlike any pagan gods, God is a God of love (1 John 4:7-10), who does not need to be appeased (Exodus 34:6).
- (2) God is a God of life, who prohibits murder and encourages us to do right things that lead to our health and happiness (Deut. 30:15-16).'
- (3) God is God of the helpless, who shows a special concern for children (Psalm 72:4). (4) God is a God of unselfishness, who instead of demanding blood gives His life for others (Isaiah 53:4-5).
Leviticus 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. (KJV)
God warned about looking to the occult (witchcraft) for advice. Mediums and spiritists were outlawed because God was not the source of their information. Occult practitioners are fakes whose predictions cannot be trusted. Because they contact evil spirits, they are extremely dangerous. BEWARE! Do NOT get tangled up with these wicked people. You do NOT need the horoscope or palm readers to get information about the future. NO one except GOD knows the future. God gave us the Bible - - - we have all the information we need to live our lives. And God CANNOT lie (Tit.1:2) so the Bible is trustworthy.
Psalm 34:16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. (KJV)
If young people start out in life learning the fear of the Lord, they can have true comfort, peace and joy here on Earth (Psalm 4:3; 5:11; John 14:27), and eternal happiness hereafter (Psalm 48:14; 73:24). Those people who will be most happy are those who begin early to serve the Master. Everyone wants to be happy, but we must look further than this present world; for our life on Earth is brief (Job 8:9; 14:2; Ps.144:4; Jam.4:14), and full of trouble (Job 14:1). We should look forward and see the good of our future life where all is perfect, for our soul is eternal. But it is really sad that so few (Mat.7:13-14) have these good thoughts about the next life. Recently in one of my classes I sensed that many did not really KNOW that they were going to Heaven. My time was gone for the day, so the next week I brought many “security” verses to them. The Bible does tell us that we do have eternal life when we accept Jesus. See John 1;12-13; 3:15-18, 36; 5:24; 20:31 for just a few of them.
We must watch over our heart and tongue. It is not enough not to do anyone harm, we must be effective and helpful in our service to the Lord. We must seek peace and pursue it (Ps.34:14; 1 Pet.3:1) and be willing to deny ourselves (Mark 8:34) for the sake of peace. It is the continual practice of TRUE believers, when we are in distress, to cry out unto God, and it is our unfailing comfort that He always hears us. The righteous are humbled because of sin, and we are corrupt in our own eyes. We need a penitent heart, that is far away from every self-confidence. It is only in this kind of good ground (Mat.13:8) that every grace will flourish, and nothing can encourage us except the free, rich goodness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The righteous are taken under the special protection of the Lord (Ps.91:4), but they always have their share of crosses to bear in this world (Luke 9:23-26), and there are always those that hate them. The afflictions of the righteous will be many. But whatever troubles befall them, nothing shall hurt their souls, for God keeps them from sinning into that kind of troubles. No person is desolate, except for those whom God has forsaken.
Proverbs 1:28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: (KJV)
God is more than willing make known His ways to us. BUT - - - to receive His advice, we must be willing to listen! We must NOT allow pride to stand in our way. If we think we know more or better than God, or feel we do not need God’s guidance, we will fall under God’s judgment like Israel did so many times.
Isaiah 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. (KJV)
Judea was desolate. Their cities were burned. This made them bring sacrifices and offerings to God, as if that would bribe God to remove the punishment He had inflicted because of their sin.
Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. (KJV)
Deut. 10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. (KJV) The sins of the people had brought about God’s wrath on them.
Lament. 3:44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through. (KJV)
Some people today think that if they confess their sins to a priest that their sins are forgiven. Some people think that God always hears their prayers. WRONG!!! Sin blocks prayers from reaching God. Unless you truly repent (be sorry and turn away from) and confess your sin ONLY to God (1 John 1:9), God will NOT hear you! As with the Jews, God will leave you to go on in your sin and that in turn leads to His Holy and righteous wrath wich leads to His judgment upon you. Many people will quickly and willingly part with their sacrifices (like the Israelites), BUT - - - they will NOT part with their sins. They relied on the mere form as a service deserving a reward. People today, like those of old, think rites and rituals and sacrifices will make things right. WRONG!!! No matter how many costly devotions, or how many sacrifices wicked people make, no matter how many prayers they speak; IF there is no reformation of the heart and life, nothing will be acceptable to God. He not only did not accept the Israelites’ sacrifices and prayers, He abhorred them. Sin is extremely hateful to God. If we allow ourselves any secret sin, or forbidden indulgences; if we reject the salvation of Christ, our very prayers will become abomination.
Jeremiah 11:14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble. (KJV)
God tells Jeremiah not to pray, and says He won’t listen to the people if they pray. A time came when God dispensed justice to Israel - - - and there is a time coming that He shall dispense justice to this world today - - - including the USA! Sin always brings its own bitter reward. If the Israelites were unrepentant and continued in their sin, neither their prayers - - - nor Jeremiah’s prayers, would keep God from bringing judgment on them. It is the same for today’s time (both Israel and Gentiles). Their only hope was repentance - - - sorrow for sin, turning from it, and turning to God. Our only hope is - - - sorrow for sin, turning from it, and turning to God. How can we keep praying for God’s help if we haven’t even tried to turn from our sin?
God’s blessings come ONLY when we are committed to Him, listen to His guidance, walk in the Light of Jesus, and NOT when we blindly hang on to our sinful ways which are an abomination to God.
Jeremiah 18:17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity. (KJV)
God has scattered Israel before their enemies as the east wind scatters dust. God had turned His Back on them. Sinners call it liberty when they live in their sin, BUT it is being a slave to their lusts. Israel had forsaken God for idols. Israel had strayed from the right paths appointed by God’s Law. They walked on the broad road to destruction (Mat.7:13-14), a way in which they stumbled. Such was the way of idolatry back then and today! It is the way of iniquity. This made their land desolate, and themselves miserable. God showed them His Back - - - not His Face! All our calamities can be borne, if God smiles upon us - - - BUT, when He is displeased, and refuses His help, His guidance - - - we are done for. Multitudes - - - then and now - - - forget the Lord and His Christ, and wander from the right paths, to walk in own ways. What are they going to do in the day of judgment?
Micah 3:4 Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. (KJV)
The Jewish leaders had no compassion or respect for those they were supposed to serve (sounds just like leaders today!) They were treating the people miserably in order to satisfy their own desires (just like today), and then they thought that they could ask for God’s help when they found themselves in trouble. We, like the Jewish leaders, should not treat God like a light switch - - - to be turned on only as needed. Instead, we should always rely on Him, always trust Him, always do right by Him. If we do, we will not reap the wrathful process of His judgment.

God Does Hide His Face From Sin, ALL Sin!
Millions today accept “damnable Heresies” (2 Pet.2:1) denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. They believe and embrace the empty and worthless promises of physical healing from televangelists that never happen, but they absolutely refuse any Biblical correction that could bring about their spiritual healing. Millions seek happiness but only a slight “few” (Mat.7:13-14) seek godliness (1 Tim. 6:3-5). The gifts God offers are anxiously sought, but the Giver is rarely sought. Millions pursue the blessings of God, but it is rare that anyone pursues He that blesses. May we as TRUE “Christians” have a deep desire to know Him (Phil.3:10). May we seek His awesome Presence in faith.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (KJV)
Anyone who refuses to seek after God, are really to be pitied, for He is a jealous God (Ex.20:5), and all these people shall receive from Him will be judgment - - - NOT blessings! God will NOT hear your prayers!
John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. (KJV) God does NOT hear sinners!
2 Tim. 3:1-7 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (KJV)
We certainly are living in “perilous times.” Mankind has always been self-centered - - - self, self, self! But in today’s world, self-love is being praised by the vast majority of society. Selfishness is ingrained in youngsters today. Me, me, me is all people think of. Almighty God receives very little, if any, respect or reverence from people today. Fear of the Lord is not taught in homes. Blasphemy is everywhere! God’s Holy Name is not allowed in schools or government - - - BUT to blaspheme Him is A-OK! Prayer is not permitted, but cursing His Name is allowed!
Multitudes of so-called “Christians” run to churches where false doctrines are taught. People accept heresies about promised physical healings that never occur. People think of physical healing - - - but not spiritual healing! They listen to false teachers but refuse to hear the Truth brought by a true man of God. Millions spend billions on their health, and exercise the body. But - - - what is more important? Body? Soul???
1 Tim. 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. (KJV)
False teachers will lead you to Hell! YES! There absolutely is a Hell, and chances are many who read this are going there. NOT everyone goes to Heaven as the false teachers tell you. The brotherhood of man is a FALSE doctrine. NOT everyone is God’s child! Far from it. Instead, the opposite is true.
Matthew 7:13-14Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV) Jesus’ Words! FEW shall enter Heaven - - - MANY will go to Hell.
Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. (KJV) Jesus’ Words. It is my humble opinion that God calls everyone - - - but only a FEW accept His invitation to eternal life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (KJV) Jesus’ Words.
John 3:18-19 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (KJV) Jesus’ Words.
The offer of eternal life is available to “whosoever” - - - Jesus died for you! Accept what He did for you one the cross. Believe God! Please do NOT call God a “liar” (1 John 5:10-12). He clearly tells us HOW to get to Heaven!
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (KJV) Jesus’ Words.
The Bible, which I believe and teach, tells us we must be born again (spiritually) - - - into God’s family. Only then do we become a child of God! The following verses tell us HOW to be born again.
John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (KJV) God the Father, has given Jesus, His Son, ALL power.
John 3:35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. (KJV) ALL things!
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (KJV) Jesus’ Words. ALL power!
John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. (KJV) Jesus’ Words.Jesus has power over ALL flesh!
Ephes. 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, (KJV) ALL things are under Him (Jesus).
1 Peter 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. (KJV) Everything and everyone is subject to Jesus!
IF you want to go to Heaven . . . you MUST believe God!
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) Jesus’ Words. Hath = has! We have eternal life NOW when we believe!
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV) Jesus’ Words. Die in your sins = Hell! Everlasting destruction!
2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (KJV) Banished forever from God and all that is good.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV) Jesus’ Words. The Father is in Heaven. The only Way that you can get there is Jesus!
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV) Jesus is the only WAY to Heaven!
So many people want to be “blessed” but they want no part of the Blesser! So many people never think of life after death. When you’re dead, you’re dead, they think. One day they will find out that is NOT true. The parable in Luke 16:19-31, about Lazarus and the rich man is proof of that. Do you know that this is the only parable that Jesus spoke, where the man had a name. It is NOT a fairy tale. Read it and consider what Jesus says. Lazarus died and ended up in Abraham’s bosom (Heaven). The rich man also died, and was buried; and in Hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and he sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. The place where the rich man was, was not the eternal Hell, but just a holding place (Hades) to await judgment. There is no one yet in Hell (the Lake of Fire). The beast and the false prophet will be the first two to be sent there (Rev. 19:20), later to be followed by the devil (Rev.20:10), and then ALL who rejected Jesus (Rev.20:15). IF your name is not in the Book of Life, Hell is your eternal destination.
Today’s population is racing to a destination that shall be eternal agony. It saddens me so, that so many refuse to consider the Truth. I believe God. I believe that there absolutely is a Hell.
Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (KJV) Jesus’ Words.
There are many so-called “Christians” who are running with this crowd. They PROFESS to be Christians - - - but they do not POSSESS Christ in their heart. They are “hypocrites” and Jesus had nothing good to say about them (Mat.6:5,16; chapter 23 of Matthew, 24:51; Mark 7:6; Luke 11:44). Religion has been ridiculously formalized: some of the newer songs, rarely ever an old time hymn, some prayer, a short sermon on what will uplift people, just what they want to hear - - - NOT what they need to hear (2 Tim. 4:3-4), then a mad rush out of the building back to the search for earthly pleasures and treasures. Is God pleased with this? I think if you have any brains at all, you know the answer! If you do not have time in your life to reverence, respect and worship God - - - as He should be - - - He is NOT at all happy with you. If you run away from Him, He in turn, shall hide His Holy Face from you. He will NOT be there when you need Him. He will NOT hear your prayers when you sin against Him, He will hide His Face from you when you don’t give Him His rightful place in your life, when you don’t seek Him in your life.
What does it mean - - - to “seek God”? If He hides Himself, how can we find Him? Where was God in the times Israel went into captivity? Where was God in the Nazi Holocaust? Where was He in 9-11? Where is He - - - in Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, Israel, or Somalia? Where is He in earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, mudslides, and fires that ravage this Earth? Where does He go when people pray and they don’t receive an answer? Why does He hide? Why is He not there for us? He is supposed to be a God of love! YES! He is a God of love, but He also has another side! He is also a God of wrath. He hates sin - - - sin of any kind! If a person is not right with Him, He absolutely shall hide His Face from them. Any time that you feel God move away - - - it is YOU that has moved - - - not Him! God is always the same (Mal.3:6; Heb.13:8). He always has hated sin, and He always will. If you feel God hiding His Face from you, get it right with Him!
1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (KJV)
God is NEVER wrong. It is mankind that is always wrong! Get rid of the sin that blocks your way to God.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (KJV)
He will NOT jump to your defense if you have turned a deaf ear to Him. He is far too wise for that. He knows all things (Isa.42:9; 46:9-10; Eze,11:5-b). God will not hide from us if we humble ourselves and cry out to Him, admitting our sin, admitting our utter hopelessness without Him. We must admit our desperate need for Him, not only in this brief life on Earth, but for eternity. But any show of pride, self-importance or self-will simply makes God hide His Face from you. When He turns away, it is His way of saying to us “If you think you can do it, then you do it. You don’t need me.” Don’t try to ridicule God. It won’t work. No one makes a fool of God! He’s smarter that you’ll ever be!
Is it easy to seek God? Is it easy to know God? No! You must have a deep desire, an actual passion to know more about Him.
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (KJV) Jesus’ Words.
IF we truly are hungry to know God, Jesus says we shall be filled. It’s a Promise. But, if we are just curiousity seekers, we will not find Him. He will be hidden from us. God hides Himself from people who refuse to see Him. Their spiritual eyes are blind. Many people are blinded because they choose to go along with false teachers and the soft, comforting words that they speak. The vast majority of people really do NOT want to know the TRUE God - - - they want to know the “god” that they have pictured in their mind - - - the “god” only of love; and that “god” is NEVER a “god” of wrath and judgment, NEVER a “god” that would send anyone to an eternal, agonizing Hell. That is NOT what the Bible clearly states! So many falsehoods are being spread in the world today: power and money hungry preachers preaching only what the people want to hear; so many cults; the Masons; New Agers; any 12 step programs such as AA, continue in false doctrines, teaching that any higher power will do, any “god” is OK - - - just believe in the “god” as you see him. BEWARE!!! The TRUE God of the Bible will NOT reveal Himself to anyone who believes this garbage! He will hide His Face from you. It is a SIN to place your love, trust and devotion in any “god” except the Creator God! But, there is a “god” who will gobble up your falsely routed devotion - - - Satan will be ecstatic and be extremely happy to assist you in this dangerously false delusion.
There are many professing Christians who are caught up in the deception of the new and ever so popular church-taught guidelines for getting to know God. One that is very deadly is that the Father or Christ Jesus can be known by imagining them to be as a person thinks they are. This can lead to a place that you do not want to go. I firmly believe that “If it is not of God, it is of the devil.” My friend, demons can and often do masquerade as God, Christ Jesus or Mary - - - to whomever you wish to visualize. Satan is strong. He has great power and he does deceive millions daily. BEWARE!!! Satan will trap you any way that he can. He will lead you away from the goodness and love of God.
2 Cor. 11:14-15 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. [15] Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (KJV)
2 Thes. 2:10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (KJV)
You have a free will. God gives you freedom to turn your back on Him and believe Satan’s lies. If you say no to the Truth, you shall experience the consequences of your sin (judgment). You CANNOT escape it!
Nearly 30 years ago, Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini spoke these words: “The purest joy in Islam is to kill and to be killed for Allah.” How many innocent people have died “for Allah” since? Literally hundreds of “suicide bombers” have demonstrated their faith in this Allah of Islam. This “god” makes promises he cannot fulfill, as multiple millions shall one day find out (too late). How can people be so vulnerable as to believe this “god” promises Paradise to those who kill innocent women and children? Murder is a SIN - - - and the TRUE God of the Bible shall bring down His wrath upon those who kill. He will hide His Face from sinners.
God hides Himself from a wicked world. As it was in Israel many years ago, so it is today! Everyone wants to do their thing. I’m my own boss, they say. No one has the right to tell me what to do. I’ll worship whatever “god” that I choose - - - and they do! But, in God’s eyes, that is sin, and He will turn His Face away from you. He will hide His Face from you.
If a false doctrine teaches no repentance, and Heaven for all people (brotherhood of man), millions will flock to that dastardly and corrupt preacher or teacher. But - - - one day, God shall reveal Himself to these sinners - - - both the deceptive shepherds and all the flocks that follow them. Then, when they stand before that awesome Judge, they shall know the TRUE God and then realize that it is too late to change their ways. He shall then reveal Himself in the worst judgment this world has ever known. God shall reveal Himself to the entire world!
Rev. 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (KJV)
ALL people . . . ALL nations . . . everywhere on Earth . . . shall KNOW that there is only one TRUE God when Judgment Day arrives. Please consider the words God has said, and the words that I write.
