Welcome to our website
ISRAEL
(Jews)
God
Is Faithful To Them
All true believers rest and rely on the fact that
God is faithful. We know that He never changes, never lies,
never falters and never fails in His Promises. His faithfulness
is the basic foundation of our faith. His faithfulness is
the solid rock upon which we base our security. His faithfulness
gives stability and strength to our faith. Because He is ever
faithful, we know we can count on Him. We know we can believe
His Promises.
Christians have the same God that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
had. There are NOT two (not 20, not 100) different gods. There
is just ONE God! Yet, today
there are many people who seem to think that God has forgotten
the Jews; has given up on them. This is NOT so!
Many
think that Christians (born
again believers) have taken the Jews'
place in God’s heart (replacement theology). This
is NOT true! Many think that “God’s
chosen people” today are now true believers. In one
respect that is true. He did
choose us. But, God has NOT forgotten the Jews! Nor will He, ever!
Ephes.
1:4 According as he hath chosen us in
him before the foundation of the world, that we should be
holy and without blame before him in love: [KJV] But, God still considers the Jews (Israel) to be His
“chosen people.” (Dan.11:15). Israel
is to God a “peculiar treasure” and the
“apple of His eye.” “Peculiar”
does not mean strange or odd, it means wealth, jewel, treasure,
special; it means set apart for God. (Ex.19:5; Deut.32:10;
Ps.17:8; 135:4; Zech.2:8).
Deut. 7:6 For thou art an holy
people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen
thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people
that are upon the face of the earth. (KJV)
Deut.
14:2 For thou art an holy people unto
the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar
people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the
earth. (KJV)
Deut. 7:7 The Lord did not set
his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in
number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: (KJV) Israel’s selection by God to this high
calling was NOT because of anything they did, or because they
were many, nor because of their extraordinary worth. It was
because of the covenant or promise God made with their godly
forefathers.
What were God’s motives?
Why did God choose Israel?
Why did He choose believers?
NO one knows the mind of God, NO one. NO one can counsel
Him. NO one can give God advise.
Isaiah
55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. [9] For as
the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher
than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (KJV)
Romans 11:34 For who hath known
the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? (KJV)
1 Cor. 2:16 For who hath known
the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have
the mind of Christ. (KJV) NO one can comprehend God, but through the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, believers have some insight into some of God’s plans, thoughts, and actions; they, in fact,
have the “mind of Christ.” Only through the Holy
Spirit can we even begin to know God’s thoughts, talk
with Him, and expect His answers to our prayers. But, why
He does certain things we will never know. We simply must
trust His faithfulness and wisdom.
God
has NOT forsaken or given up on the Jewish people. Nor will
He ever do that!
Sometimes
we may wonder when we read the newspapers or watch TV. With
all that they have been through in the past, it is only by
the grace of God that they still exist. God has brought much
sorrow on them, but it was because of their apostasy, their
direct disobedience in following God’s Laws.
Even with all the wrong they have done, God still
loves them. Don’t ever doubt this fact.
They
are still His “chosen people,” His “peculiar
treasure,” the “apple of His eye.”
And they will be here eternally! It is a Promise from God!
Jeremiah 31:35-37 Thus saith
the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the
ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night,
which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord
of hosts is his name: [36] If those ordinances depart from
before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall
cease from being a nation before me for ever. [37] Thus saith
the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations
of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all
the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the
Lord. [KJV] These “ordinances” still
exist today, and have for centuries! The sun comes up every
morning and goes down every evening. The moon and stars still
appear each night. And my friend, NO ONE, no matter how educated
or wise, will ever be able to “measure Heaven”
or “search the Earth’s foundations”
(figure it out).
Only God alone has the power to do away with the laws of nature
or to do away with His people. But He will not do either.
These verses are not a prediction; they are a Promise. God
is saying that He will not reject Israel any more than He
will do away with nature’s laws. Neither will happen!
Israel is here to stay.
Jeremiah
31:31-34 Behold, the days come, saith
the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of
Israel, and with the house of Judah: [32] Not according to
the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that
I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt;
which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto
them, saith the Lord: [33] But this shall be the covenant
that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days,
saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and
write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they
shall be my people. [34] And they shall teach no more every
man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know
the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them
unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord; for I will forgive
their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. [KJV]
The
writer of Hebrews wrote this Promise, word for word in chapter
8. What is the “new covenant”?
Matthew
26:26-29 And as they were eating, Jesus
took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the
disciples, and said, Take,
eat; this is my body. [27] And he
took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
[28] For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed
for many for the remission of sins. [29] But I say unto you,
I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until
that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. [KJV] To whom is Jesus speaking? To the apostles, to Jews! Jesus is speaking
of the “new covenant” of which Jeremiah
spoke all those many years ago. Jesus came to bring the “new
covenant” to the Jews, but they refused, are still
refusing to accept it (Him).
It is necessary that we understand the “new covenant.”
There are three essential elements of this covenant.
- #1 I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; This means when we accept Jesus as our Saviour and Lord, He places an awareness within us, so that we inwardly know right from wrong. We think differently, we have different attitudes about life. We become sensitive to God and His will.
- #2 and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, God now occupies a different relationship with you. He is now no longer a God of wrath of whom you are terrified. He instead is a God of love (care, concern, compassion). He is now a loving God who you are privileged to call Father. There is a warm and intimate feeling deep within you. Because of His Spirit abiding within you, you know the Lord now in a way you never did before. And the wonderful Holy Spirit now teaches us.
- #3 I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. God forgives all the wickedness of our past, and will never again remember those sins. What a burden is lifted from us by God’s merciful forgiveness! It is a marvelous feeling to have all that guilt removed! We can now access God’s mighty Throne because of the Blood of Jesus! We are no longer God’s enemies (Rom.5:9-10). We can go to Him for His mercy and grace any time of day or night where an unbeliever cannot access God (John 9:31).
Many believers forget that we need forgiveness every day. Even the best Christians sin (Rom.3:10,23). But, when we go to God and ask forgiveness, He will forgive us (1 John 1:9).
Who
are those who belong to the church today?
All
“born again”
believers, BOTH Jews and Gentiles. The “new covenant”
belongs to all of them. But, we ALL must
come into the church by the same way . . . Jesus!
This is why so many people do not understand the Jews. So
very many people today think that the church has replaced
Israel.
They actually believe that the church has taken over all the
Promises that were given to Israel. If that were so, that
would mean God lied. And my friend, God NEVER lies (Titus
1:2). They believe the church is now God’s chosen people.
That is NOT backed up Biblically.
1
Cor. 10:32 Give none offence, neither
to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: (KJV) Paul divides the whole world into three groups:
Jews (Israel), Gentiles (non-Jews), and church of God (born
again believers). We are not to offend
either the Jews, the Gentiles, or the church of God.
There
are the three divisions of the human family today, but one
day soon the church of God is going to leave this Earth. Then
there will be only the Jews and Gentiles in the world, and
God will then set into motion the most horrible time in all
history, the Great Tribulation Period.
The church came into existance (was born) on the day of Pentecost
(Acts 2). The church of God (Body of Christ) is NOT the nation
Israel; not now, not ever. In Romans chapters 9,10 & 11,
the apostle Paul goes to great length to tell us about Israel,
and just where Israel fits into God’s plan. He clearly
shows us the difference between the “church of God”
and Israel. Remember, the church is made up of ALL “born
again” believers whether they are
Jew or Gentile. The “church of God” is
called the “Body of Christ” (Rom.7:4;
1 Cor.10:16; 12:27; Eph.4:12). The nation Israel is NEVER
called by this name.
The apostle Paul tells us that the nation Israel still possess
certain advantages which they cannot lose, even if they do
not believe that Jesus is/was the Messiah.
Romans
9:1-5 I say the truth in Christ, I lie
not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
[2] That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my
heart. [3] For I could wish that myself were accursed from
Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
[4] Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and
the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and
the service of God, and the promises; [5] Whose are the fathers,
and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over
all, God blessed for ever. Amen. [KJV]
Paul
states that in the Presence of Christ, he speaks the truth.
He says the Holy Spirit confirms what he is saying is true.
Paul was a Jew, and his heart was filled with sorrow and non
stop grief for his people. He said he would be willing to
be forever cursed . . . cut off from Christ! . . . IF that
would save them. That is quite a statement!
Paul says the people of Israel are:
#1 Chosen to be God’s special children.
#2 God revealed His glory to them.
#3 God made covenants with them and
#4 God gave His law to them.
They
are a very privileged people. They have the privilege of worshiping
Him and receiving His wonderful Promises. Their ancestors
were great people of God, and Christ Himself was a Jew as
far as His human nature is concerned. Paul states that Christ
is God, and He rules over everything and is worthy of eternal
praise!
Romans 11:15-16 For if the casting
away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the
receiving of them be, but life from the dead? [16] For if
the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the
root be holy, so are the branches. [KJV]
Paul tells us here that for now, Israel has been set aside
from its favored position with God. Set
aside, NOT abandoned! And when God set aside
Israel, He then turned to the Gentiles (non Jews). When the
Jews rejected Christ, God then offered the Gift of salvation
to the rest of the world. When God did this, it gave life
to those who were dead (spiritually), those who would simply
have faith and believe Him.
But remember, since Abraham and the other patriarchs were
holy, their children will also be holy. Paul tells us here
that if the roots of the tree are holy, the branches will
be, too. The “roots” are Abraham, Issaac
and Jacob. The “branches” are their descendants. Again, this plainly tells us
that God has NOT abandoned Israel!
Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches
be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed
in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness
of the olive tree; [KJV] Some of the branches from Abraham’s
tree (Jews), have been broken off. When this happened, God
then “grafted in” Gentiles (branches from a wild
olive tree). So now Gentiles also receive the blessing God
has promised Abraham and his children. We share in God’s rich nourishment of His special
olive tree (Israel), but we do NOT take their place!
Genesis
12:3 And
I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth
thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. [KJV] God’s Promise to Abraham in this verse
is a Promise to Gentiles as well. “And in thee shall
all families of the earth be blessed.” Because
of Christ (Abraham’s descendant), this has been fulfilled!
ALL families of the earth can be blessed IF they simply believe! But, IF they refuse to believe and
reject Christ, and curse the Jews, they shall be cursed by
God. Salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22).
Gentiles must never feel superior to the
Jews because we now have a privileged position with God. We
are NOT replacements for the Jews. God just added us to His
family, the “church of God” out of the
abundant love and mercy He possesses. He allows or permits
us (Jews or Gentiles) to become His children when we believe
Him.
John 1:12-13 But as many as received
him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even
to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not
of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of
man, but of God. [KJV] IF we simply believe
on His Name (Jesus) and accept Him (Jesus), He (Jesus) gives
us the right to become children of God by His awesome power.
We are reborn, spiritually! This is not a physical birth resulting
from human passion or plan, this rebirth comes only from God.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said
unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see
the kingdom of God. [KJV] IF you
ever want to go to Heaven, you must be “born
again” or you won’t even
“see” Heaven!
Any time a nation, ANY nation, has once known and obeyed God,
and knows His goodness and grace, and then turns its back
on God, bad things are going to happen. It happened to Israel
time and time again. The temptation to follow false gods because
of short-term benefits, good feelings, easy “rules,”
was always present. But these short termed benefits were deceptive
because the gods were false. To turn away from the one and
only true God, can only bring sorrow and grief.
Israel’s Persecution: 2 Kings 16:6; Esther 3:13; 4:7; 7:4; Psalm 74:8; 83:4; Jer.
50:7, 17; Lam. 4:18; Eze.25:12; 36:3; Dan.3:8; 8:24. Each
time she was persecuted, it was a judgment from God because
of her disobedience to Him.
Israel’s Forsaking God: Ex. 34:16; Num. 32:15; Deut.29:18; 31:16; 32:15; Josh.24:20;
Jud. 2:12; 10:10; 1 Kings 9:6; 1 Chron.28:9; 2 Chron.7:19;

22:9; Eze. 6:9; 14:7; Hosea 2:5.
Examples of Israel’s Forsaking
God: Ex. 32:8; Num.14:43; Deut.28:20; 29:25;
31:18; Jud.8:33; 10:6, 13; 1 Sam.8:8; 1 Sam.10:19; 12:10;
28:7; 1 Kings 9:9; 11:9; 11:33; 14:9; 18:18; 2 Kings 17:7,
16; 21:22; 22:17; 1 Chron.5:25; 10:14; 2 Chron.12:1; 13:11;
2 Chron.21:10; 24:20, 24; 25:27; 28:6; 29:6; Ezra 9:10; Psalm
16:4; Isa.1:21;17:10; Isaiah 31:1; 43:22; 65:11; Jer.2:17,
31; 17:13; 19:4; Eze.23:5; Dan. 9:5; Hosea 1:2; Hosea 4:12;
5:7; 7:13; Zep.3:2; Mal.3:7.
Israel
Carried Into Bondage: Gen.15:13; Ex.1:11; 2:11, 23; 5:4; 6:5; 13:3; Ex.13:14; 14:12;
20:2, 15; Deut.5:15; 6:12, 21; 8:14; 13:10; 15:15; 16:12;
24:18, 22; Deut.26:6; 28:48, 68; Josh.24:17; Jud.3:14; 6:8
2; 2 Chron.29:9; Ezra 9:8; Neh.9:36; Psalm 81:6; 105:25; 106:42;
Eze.23:21; Joel 3:6.
May we learn from Israel’s
mistakes. We are fools if we don't. The greatest
blessing any nation or person can possibly have is knowing
God! And knowing God means having a personal relationship
with Him, and that means obeying Him. The secular world wants
no part of God, and will not obey Him, not in the days of
old, and not today.
If
we believe that God can revoke His Promises to Israel, then
we cannot be sure about our salvation. But if we believe God,
and believe that He indeed is faithful to His Promises, we
know deep within that our salvation is secured by the precious
Blood of Jesus.
John
5:24 Verily, verily,
I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on
him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come
into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. [KJV] We have eternal life the moment we accept Him. “Hath”
= HAS, HAVE!
I believe that God is faithful
both to the Jews, and to the church. He cannot, He will not,
break even one of His Promises, not now, not ever! God CANNOT
lie: (Num.23:19; Deut.32:4; Josh.21:45; Ps.19:9;
