Leviticus 26:33-35 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths. As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it. (KJV)
In 2 Kings 17 and 2 Kings 25, God’s warning pronounced in these verses came true. Israel persistently disobeyed (like people today), and eventually they were conquered and carried off to the lands of Assyria and Babylonia. The nation was held in captivity for 70 years, making up for all of the years that the Israelites did not observe the law of the sabbath year (2 Chron. 36:21).
Leviticus 26:40-45 If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me; And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes. And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the Lord their God. But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the Lord. (KJV)
We as God’s children, are extremely blessed that God meant when He said, that He is slow to anger (longsuffering Exodus 34:6). Even when Israel chose to disobey and were scattered among their enemies, God still gave them the opportunity to repent and return to Him. He has NOT changed (Mal.3:6), so He is longsuffering toward us today. Look around you at all the abominations that are being committed in today’s world. Just as God’s wrath finally came to a head with Israel, so too will He judge the people in today’s world (USA included). God’s purpose was not to destroy Israel, but to make them see their devastating sin against Him. Unless we call upon Him, do His will, and pray unto Him, God will NOT hearken unto us! (Jer.29:12). God is loving and merciful and longsuffering - - - absolutely! BUT - - - He is also a God of Holy and righteous wrath! Judgment shall come to ALL those who sin against Him, ALL those who say that evil is good and good is evil (Isa.5:20).
Deut. 28:64 And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. (KJV)
This prophecy (a severe warning), came true when Israel was defeated and carried away into captivity by Assyria (722 B.C.), and Judah to Babylonia (586 B.C.). Later, in A.D. 70, Roman oppression forced many Jews to flee their homeland. Thus the people were dispersed throughout many nations, just as prophesied.
Neh. 1:8 Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations: (KJV)
Moses told Israel that IF she sinned against God, He would scatter her all through out the world. She sinned, again and again, and God brought judgment down upon her . . . again and again! What about us? Do we not sin, again and again? Do you think that if we continue in sin that He will continue to be patient and NOT bring down His wrath upon us? Judgment is coming! Believe it my friend! God’s patience will finally reach a pivotal point and He will say “No more.” BEWARE!!!
Jeremiah 9:16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them. (KJV)
Read: Jer. 7:1-10:25. Jeremiah rebukes the people for their false and worthless religion (so much of it today), their idolatry (many idols today: money, possessions, pleasure, etc.), and the shameless behavior of the people (today it is adultery, fornication, homosexuality, violence, drugs, alcoholism, blasphemy everywhere, God taken out of schools and government, etc.) and their leaders leading down wrong roads (history does repeat itself). Judah was ripe for judgment and exile. This world as we know it is also ripe for judgment! The sins of Israel were false religion, idolatry, and hypocrisy. These things have worked their way down into today’s times, today’s people! Jeremiah was almost put to death for bringing the Word of God. It will not be long in today’s world that we as God’s servants will be severely restricted from bringing the Truth, and those who stand firm for Jesus will be imprisoned or killed. This is already true in some parts of the world; but I am speaking of America. It’s coming here too, and it will not be long getting here!
Jeremiah 24:9 And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them. (KJV)
Oh! how true this prophecy is! The Jews are hated by so many people, so many nations.
Jeremiah 29:18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them: (KJV)
Another verse like the one above! Because Israel did not listen to God; they are in the state that they are. One day soon, ALL nations shall rise up against her (Zech.12:3,9). Most of the world already hates her! President Bush may think he is doing right, but he is not! Jerusalem belongs to ISRAEL! Why is he so determined to give it to the Muslims? It does NOT belong to them! See verses below! God makes it quite clear just who that land belongs to! Why don’t people believe the Bible? Why don’t they READ the Bible!
