Muslim vs Christian Heaven
Heaven is the place where people believe that the souls of good people go after their death. For some, it is high above in the sky from where you can gaze upon the earth and earthly beings. For others, it is entirely a different universe or simply does not exist. Heaven is a major belief in ALL the religions and all religions teach people to do good to go to heaven after their lives on earth. But there are MAJOR differences in the ideas of heaven in all these religions. There is a very opposing difference between the Heaven of Christian and that of Muslims.
For Christians, the way to reach heaven is through salvation. Belief in the Christ and living according to His principles is the way to attain salvation in the teachings of TRUE Christianity. A person who achieves salvation is said to go to heaven and become eternal.
For Muslims, the teaching is that only Muslims will go to heaven. The pagans or whom the religion refers as Kafirs, shall not reach heaven. So being a true, obedient Muslim is the only way for Muslims to reach heaven. That is the Muslim teaching.
In TRUE Christianity, only elected people are fortunate to reach Heaven and spend eternity there. There are many denominations in Christianity, and each group has their teachings of heaven. Roman Catholics believe that people entering a purgatory are eligible to reach heaven while the Eastern Catholics and Eastern Orthodox people believe that God has the final say on who can enter heaven and who cannot. For Christians, heaven is a peaceful place of good people.
In the Quran, heaven is described as a place where there is a huge garden, a river flowing by the side, and there are fruits and shade from the trees. There are different levels of heaven in Islam. The highest being Paradise and the lowest is Khuldi. Heaven is known as Jannat in the religion. It is often compared to jewels and good food. It is described as a place where there is happiness, all wishes are fulfilled, and lifestyle consists of costly robes, perfumes, jewels, and exquisite banquets. The foods include milk, scented wine, fruits, and poultry. The immortals can rejoice with their relatives in heaven and every wish fulfilled instantly.
The heaven of both the Christian and Muslim religions is described in the holy books and the followers believe that. Even though there are no proofs of Heaven, the followers believe the words in these holy books.
#1. In Christianity, Heaven is attained by belief in Christ Jesus and following his principles. In Islam, only those who live as Muslims go to heaven.
#2. For Muslims, heaven is a place full of happiness, food, costly robes, perfumes, and jewels. The heaven of Christians is modest with a calm, peaceful atmosphere, angels and happiness.
#3. Heaven is reached through salvation by faith in what Christ did on the cross for Christians
AND for Muslims, only living in obedience to the principles of Islam, makes them reach heaven.
Muslim’s Heaven, from the Quran:
[3.15] Say:Shall I tell you what is better than these? For those who guard (against evil) are gardens with their Lord, beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them, and pure mates and Allah's pleasure; and Allah sees the servants.
[3.130] O you who believe! do not devour usury, making it double and redouble, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, that you may be successful. [3.131] And guard yourselves against the fire which has been prepared for the unbelievers. [3.132] And obey Allah and the Apostle, that you may be shown mercy. [3.133] And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord; and a Garden, the extensiveness of which is (as) the heavens and the earth, it is prepared for those who guard (against evil). [3.134] Those who spend (benevolently) in ease as well as in straitness, and those who restrain (their) anger and pardon men; and Allah loves the doers of good (to others). [3.135] And those who when they commit an indecency or do injustice to their souls remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their faults-- and who forgives the faults but Allah, and (who) do not knowingly persist in what they have done. [3.136] (As for) these-- their reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them, and excellent is the reward of the laborers.
[3.198] But as to those who are careful of (their duty to) their Lord, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding in them; an entertainment from their Lord, and that which is with Allah is best for the righteous.
[2.25] And convey good news to those who believe and do good deeds, that they shall have gardens in which rivers flow; whenever they shall be given a portion of the fruit thereof, they shall say: This is what was given to us before; and they shall be given the like of it, and they shall have pure mates in them, and in them, they shall abide.
[2.82] And (as for) those who believe and do good deeds, these are the dwellers of the garden; in it they shall abide.
[5.119] Allah will say: This is the day when their truth shall benefit the truthful ones; they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide in them for ever: Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Allah; this is the mighty achievement.
[52.17] Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss [52.18] Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. [52.19] Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, [52.20] Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. [52.21] And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought.
The Christian Heaven is where Christians will go where they can honor, praise and serve Christ Jesus for eternity! Phillippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV)
Revelation 4:10-11 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (KJV)
The Christian’s Heaven, from the Holy Bible:
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (KJV)
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (KJV)
Revelation 21:1-27 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an merald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. (KJV)
Revelation 22:1-7 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. 6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
