Ecumenism =Hand in Hand with Rome
Back when I left the Roman Catholic religion, about 1950 or so, people agreed that this religion was a cult. What Roman Catholicism taught and practiced then was at odds with the Truth of the Bible, and my dear friend, Catholics still oppose the Holy Word of God today in many ways.
Rev. 22:17-19 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. [KJV] Emphasis mine. Is this not what the Catholics do? Especially ADD UNTO!
There are some things, at least on the outside, that Catholics and Bible-believing Christians hold in common. The virgin birth of Christ Jesus which involves the conception of Jesus by the Holy Spirit, is one example. BUT, concerning Christ’s miraculous birth, the Catholic Church ADDS the virgin Mary and the heresies of her Immaculate Conception. My dear friend, Mary was a incredible and marvelous woman, blessed indeed by Almighty God. . . BUT . . . she was a sinner like ALL humans!
Psalm 14:3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (KJV) . . . ALL!
Ecc. 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. (KJV) . . . NOT one just person on earth!
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (KJV) . . . ALL!
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (KJV) . . . NONE righteous!
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV) . . . ALL!
Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. (KJV) . . . ALL!
WHO wrote the Bible? It was Almighty GOD who inspired the words of the writers! Do you SEE what the above verses state??? ALL PEOPLE ARE SINNERS!!! NO one is without sin, not even Mary while she was on earth! ONLY JESUS the Man did not sin. That is why He was the Perfect sacrifice for our sin.
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (KJV) . . . the Israelite priests went in continually, with the blood of goats and calves. All they got was a temporary solution. Only Christ Jesus went in ONCE and just that ONE time, and when He did,
Having obtained eternal redemption . . . the importance is upon the contrast that Christ entered ONCE into the Holy Place and obtained eternal redemption, whereas the priests went in daily, year after year and never did accomplish what Jesus did!
Here the redemption of man is attributed to the Blood of Christ; and this precious Blood is stated to be shed in a sacrificial way, precisely as the blood of bulls, goats and calves was shed under the law. Once for all . . . in direct opposition to the annual entering of the high priest into the holiest, with the blood of the annual victim. The holy place or sanctuary, means Heaven, into which Jesus entered into with His own Blood, as the high priest entered into the holy of holies with the blood of the victims which he had sacrificed. Eternal redemption is a redemption price which would stand good for ever, when once offered; and an endless redemption from sin, in reference to the pardon, which reconciles us to God (Rom.5:1-2). There is NO more need of other sacrifice! The Perfect Sacrifice of Jesus is eternal in its merit and effectiveness. (Eph.5:2).
Jesus paid it all! After we die, we go directly into the Presence of God! 2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (KJV)
Mary herself admitted that she needed a Saviour! (Luke 1:46-48). Mary WAS a sinner. She NEEDED a Saviour just like you and me. Her Saviour is Jesus, just like you and me! Jesus just happened to be her son!
