Reasons to Love the Wrath of God

We really should treasure the wrath of God just as much as any other part of God’s character. 
Here are 3 reasons why the wrath of God is important to us as believers.

Do you love the wrath of God?

The truth is that people just don’t really like to talk about God’s wrath. It makes people uncomfortable and it does not fit in well with their other feelings. People would much rather talk about how God is loving, kind and merciful. If you talk about God’s wrath, people start avoiding you and say, “Stay far away from that nut!”

Since I constantly write articles or books for prison inmates, I am fairly at ease with God’s wrath, where most people are not. I know there are two sides of a coin, just as there are two sides of God: love and wrath! You cannot have one without the other! The wrath of God is just as outstanding as His love and mercy.

How can the wrath of God be just outstanding as God’s love?

I know it sounds contrary to common-sense, but we should prize and treasure the wrath of God just as much as any other part of God’s awesome character. Why? Consider the following.

#1. The wrath of God is God’s holy, righteous, absolutely morally pure opposition to any sin and the punishment of unrighteousness. There are three reasons that those who have never heard the Gospel deserve God’s wrath. Paul said that people who have never heard the Gospel still have received the knowledge of God. Since the creation of the world, God’s unseen attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen by them, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (KJV)
You do not have to have read a Bible or hear the Gospel preached by a pastor or taught by a teacher to KNOW there is a God! People KNOW that God exists. Every person knows that Truth whether they admit it or not. How do they know it? All they have to do is open their eyes and look around at the Creation. God gives EVERY person a knowledge of Himself, and Creation is shouting the fact that there definitely IS a Creator.

#2. Paul said that the unrighteous have REJECTED this knowledge of God. Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (KJV)
What did they do with that knowledge of God? They rejected the knowledge that they had.

#3. Paul said that the unrighteous have discarded their knowledge of God and they have replaced it with a god of their liking. Romans 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (KJV) . . . Many times in today’s world it is sex, drugs, booze or money, etc.
Every person who rejects their given knowledge of the TRUE God, always replaces that knowledge with a false god. BEWARE!!!
