The Eclipse of God

What happens when there is an eclipse of the sun? The moon comes between the Earth and the sun; the light of the sun is hidden, the moon is seen, but the sun is NOT seen!

Does this mean that the sun no longer shines? NO, absolutely NOT! An eclipse means that the sun’s light is blocked . . . sometimes the Earth (or parts of it) are almost totally dark; at other times there are glimmers of light, enough to move about, but not enough to read a book or even to walk about with confidence. Even a partial-darkness makes us unsure of our steps or unsure of our direction.

Groping in the Darkness

Radical Secularism is the opinion of seeking to conduct human affairs built on secular, worldly thoughts . . . NOT those from belief and faith in God and His Holy Word. Radical secularism has obscured (masked, hidden) the Light of God . . . God is still God, and HE is definitely still there . . . BUT America no longer sees Him as GOD! And, just as bad, or worse . . . we are invited to accept false gods who can neither give us light nor give us answers to life’s most common questions. Because we give in, we struggle as individuals, as families, and as a nation. Any time that God is rejected and is not welcomed in our lives, we see people live erratically, . . . not knowing their ultimate purpose, not knowing what God’s will is for them . . . but waking up each day with hope that keeps fading, grabbing whatever pleasure they can find as they pass through their lives in a pointless search for content and peace.

God Himself tells the reason for this eclipse.
Isaiah 59:1-3 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. (KJV)

John 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (KJV)
WHAT is the condemnation? Very simple according to Almighty God. People refuse the LIGHT! An honest heart and a sincere desire for Truth are needed in order to love light! ALL evil doers hate the light, they love instead the darkness where their evil deeds cannot be seen. "He that doeth truth" . . . . Truth MUST be lived, not just sometime, but 24/7! When we live an honest life, really wanting light, we have nothing to hide.

That horrible day the world crucified Christ . . . on that day the world made a decision. ALL people shall be judged by God. The condemnation, or the judgment, is that LIGHT (Jesus) is come into the world, but because men's deeds were evil continually (Gen.6:5), they loved the darkness. Rats always make a mad dash for a dark corner when the light is turned on.
In this verse our Lord approaches many things from the negative point. "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." Today, we hear so much about the power of "positive thinking." Believe me, friend, when I say there is great power in negative thinking and negative speaking. Listen to other things Jesus said. ". . . I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" and ". . . the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many" (Mark 2:17; Mark 10:45). "God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world." And Jesus says that every one that does evil hates the light. In other words, whoever continually practices what is wrong hates the light. "Light" and "truth" are used in the same way. "He that doeth truth cometh to the light." Wickedness and darkness are always opposite of Light and Truth.

We must grieve for this generation. They seek hope and meaning in all the wrong places!
Pro. 4:19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. (KJV)
When God hides His Face from us, we are left without a map, without a purpose . . . and the result is devastating. When a person abandons God, they have no choice except to look to themself for guidance and meaning in this complicated world. So, they choose gods that are much more to their liking. They choose gods they can control; gods that will NOT judge us but gods who do NOT demand they repentant. NO false god created us . . . we create false gods to NO avail! These gods become a deception in our mind, formed according to whatever we want them to be.
