Many of today's so-called "Christians" are on the broad road to apostasy. They are spiritually malnourished and have little spiritual discernment. False teachers are bringing "judge not" from the pulpits.

But, what about what Jesus says???

Matthew 7:20-23 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (KJV)

Yes! Jesus does say: Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. (KJV) BUT, He also states in Matthew 7:21-23 one of the most frightening warnings found in all the Scriptures.

Many (not a few) people that openly call Jesus "Lord, Lord" and many that "prophesy in thy name. . ." and ". . . cast out devils. . ."and in the name of Jesus Christ perform "many wonderful works. . ."? Jesus will say to them: "I NEVER knew you." They were NEVER saved. IF they were saved, Jesus could not say, I NEVER knew you. YES! There are many out there doing good things! But IF they are doing good things and are NOT saved, I NEVER knew you is what they shall hear on Judgment Day! Despite their many wonderful works in the Name of Jesus, despite calling Him "Lord, Lord", Christ Jesus will cast them into an eternal lake of fire, saying: "ye that work iniquity."

Matthew 7:13-20 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. [15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (KJV)

HOW can we "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves"? IF we do not "judge" who the "false prophets" are? How can we KNOW who the "false prophets" are? These preachers appear as "sheep" (saved people), spouting smooth words to their immense following; but they are nothing but "ravening wolves." HOW do we know? There is only one way!!! Check out EVERYTHING and EVERYONE by the Word of God; the perfect and unchangeable Word of God (Acts 17:11).

These false teachers/preachers say: "I can't judge them, I don't know their heart." What does Jesus say??? Matthew 15:18-19 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. [19] For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: (KJV) What comes out the mouth STARTS in the heart!!

I receive some emails condemning me for my "judging" people. I also receive many more emails urging me on and encouraging me to "add" a certain person because of their false teaching. I can in no way bring to light all the "wolves" out there, and I appreciate that there are indeed, many very concerned TRUE believers who are horrified at the things that are being taught in today's modern churches by these wolves masquerading as shepherds. Below is just one of the emails.

"As you are aware Southern Gospel singer Joel Hemphill denies the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Blessed Trinity. His book To God Be The Glory, and many of his tapes attack these historic teachings of the Christian church are also on many other anti-deity of Christ sites."

After much research on Joel Hemphill, I do agree with this man that Hemphill is a false teacher and an enemy of the cross of Christ. Philippians 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) (KJV)

The following are some quotes from Hemphill's web sites.

Hemphill's words are in bold letters.

#1 Jesus never one time said that he is "God." . . . Jesus IS God!!!

The BIBLE says: Mark 2:5-7 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. [6] But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, [7] Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? (KJV) Jesus can forgive sins because Jesus is God!

Luke 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them,What reason ye in your hearts? (KJV) Jesus can read your heart and mind! Jesus is God!

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?(KJV) Very Plain!

#2 Jesus denied saying he is God. Jesus NEVER denied that He was God!!!

The BIBLE says: John 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (KJV)

John 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? (KJV) Hemphill twists Scripture! Jesus DOES say that He IS God! Jesus IS God!

#3 Jesus denied that he is the Creator. Jesus NEVER denied that He was the Creator!

The BIBLE says: John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (KJV) ALL things were made by Jesus. Nothing was made that wasn’t made by Jesus.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (KJV) This was true when this was written, and it is true today.

Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (KJV) Jesus made the worlds and everything in them! Jesus is God! For more, see: Jesus IS God!

#4 Paul said that Christ "is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature" (Col. 1:15). YES! And that is True! BUT, there is more!

The BIBLE says: John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (KJV) To me, this goes hand in hand with: John 10:30 I and my Father are one. (KJV) Jesus IS God!

John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (KJV) Only Almighty GOD can give us salvation . . . eternal life in Heaven!!! Jesus IS God!!!

#5 The focus of my book isn't what Jesus is not, but rather who God the Father is. God is immortal - Jesus was not. Jesus IS God, and He IS IMMORTAL!!!

The BIBLE says: John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (KJV) The "Word" is Jesus! In the beginning the "Word" already existed, and was there with God! The "Word" was with God, and the "Word" was God. He . . . the "Word" (JESUS) existed in the beginning WITH God. ALL things were made by the "Word" (JESUS)! Nothing was created except by or through Him (JESUS).

Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (KJV) Just WHO does Hemphill and others think this Passage refers to??? There is just ONE answer! Jesus IS God! Jesus is the Child who would be born! Jesus IS GOD!! Jesus IS The mighty God, The everlasting Father! I do not know if Hemphill is a advocate of the Dake Bible or not, but it sure sounds like it.

#6 He was appointed to death Heb. 9:27. YES!! Jesus did die! But He rose again by His power (John 2:19)! He lives, as all who believe in Him will also rise one day and live. He (JESUS) will raise us up one day by His divine power (John 6:40. 44; 54). Jesus IS God!!!

The BIBLE says: John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. (KJV) And He DID!!!

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (KJV)
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (KJV)
John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. (KJV)

#7 God is omnipresent - Jesus was not. He said at Lazarus' tomb, "I am glad for your sakes that I was not there" John 11:15. True. Jesus was not omnipresent when He walked the Earth as Man. He set aside His divinity temporarily when He left the glory of Heaven to come to Earth to go to the cross, for us! Jesus IS God! And as God who sits at the right Hand ot His Father (Ac.5:31; 755-56; Col.3:1; Heb.10:12; 12:2; 1 Pet.3:22), He absolutely is OMNIPRESENT because Jesus IS God!!!

#8 God is omnipotent - Jesus was not. Again, same answer as #7.

The BIBLE says: When on Earth as Man, Jesus' power came from the Third Person of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit (Ghost). ALL the miracles that Jesus did were done through the close association that He had with Holy Spirit.

#9 God is omniscient - Jesus was not. He did not know when he would return. He went to a fig tree to see if perhaps, "haply he might find anything thereon" Mark 11:13.

This quote really upsets me! It seems to me that Hemphill is saying that precious Jesus, MY Saviour and Lord, was stupid and that He did not know when figs were ripe. Ridiculous! The Passage in Mark 11:12-14, to me, is NOT speaking of Jesus' omniscience. To me, it was a chance for Jesus to give another parable, which to me, is a story of life giving a warning. What is the warning in Mark 11:12-14? Christian BEWARE! Does YOUR life consist of "nothing but leaves"? No fruit? That to me is what Jesus is trying to get across in that Passage.

The BIBLE says: Matthew 9:4-8 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. (KJV) JESUS knew their thoughts! Also: Mat.12:25
Luke 11:17-20 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. 18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. 19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. 20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. (KJV) JESUS knew their thoughts! Also see: Luke 6:8. Jesus IS God! And He certainly is NOT stupid!

#10 He is perfect, sinless man, but man nevertheless!

YES! Absolutely! Jesus was a Man! BUT . . . He was a very special Man! A God-Man, a One and Only Man who YES, was perfect and was sinless! NO other natural man could ever do what Jesus, the God-Man did. NO other man in history can claim perfection! NO other man in history was or ever could be sinless! Jesus IS GOD!!!

NO ordinary man can give us eternal life!

NO ordinary man can forgive sin, that includes a Catholic priest!

NO ordinary man can heal the sick on his own power.

NO ordinary man can raise the dead.

NO ordinary man can make the blind to see on his own power.

NO ordinary man can make the lame to walk on his own power.

NO ordinary man can know the thought of others.

This just names a few things that Jesus, the Man did while He was on Earth as Man! Since Jesus is a Person in the Three Person Triune God, He was well able to do ALL the above things.

The following information should help you see the TWO natures of Jesus!

As GOD: He is worshiped (Mat. 2:2,11; 14:33)
As MAN: He worshiped the Father (John 17).

As GOD: He was called God (John 20:28; Heb. 1:8)
As MAN: He was called man (Mark 15:39; John 19:5).

As GOD: He was called Son of God (Mark 1:1)
As MAN: He was called Son of Man (John 9:35-37)

As GOD: He is prayed to (Acts 7:59).
As MAN: He prayed to the Father (John 17).

As GOD: He is sinless (1 Pet. 2:22; Heb. 4:15).
As MAN: He was tempted (Matt. 4:1).

As GOD: He knows all things (John 21:17).
As MAN: He grew in wisdom (Luke 2:52).

As GOD: He gives eternal life (John 10:28).
As MAN: He died (Rom. 5:8).

As GOD: All the fullness of deity dwells in Him (Col. 2:9).
As MAN: He has a body of flesh and bones (Luke 24:39).

According to Orthodox Christian belief, Jesus was perfect Man and perfect God at the same time. Modern Christians reject this idea. Some say this is a paradox, meaning something that seems impossible but can be shown to be true.

In my humble opinion, You can say Jesus is a fool, you can ridicule Him and believe lies about Him and blaspheme Him . . . OR . . . you can fall at His Feet and call Him Lord and God. Your choice!

Mat.16:15-17 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (KJV)

Was His claim to be God false? IF it was false, then there are just two alternatives. He either knew it was false or He didn't know it was false. Was Jesus a Liar? IF He knew that He was not God, then He was lying and He deceived His followers. And IF He was a liar, He was also a hypocrite because He told others to be honest, yet He himself taught and lived a huge lie.

Wherever Jesus has been proclaimed, lives have been changed for the good, thieves are made honest, liars now speak truth, alcoholics and drug addicts are cured, once hateful people have become channels of love and unjust persons become just. Jesus is God!

#11 He is the second Adam, not the first God-man.

Jesus was the first and only God-Man! How can Hemphill come up with such blasphemy?

The BIBLE says: 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (KJV)

#12 Jesus was a praying man and he prayed to the one whom he called in John 20:17, "my Father and your Father; and to my God, and your God." Prayer is a declaration of dependence upon God, and Jesus always prayed.

YES!!! Absolutely! Jesus always prayed, giving us an example of how we should live. A few verses where Jesus prayed: Luke 3:21; 5:16; 6:12; 9:18,28-29; 22:41-46.

#13 The incarnation as taught by modern Christianity is a fable. “(Incarnation) refers to the Christian doctrine that the pre-existent Son of God became man in Jesus. The doctrine (Trinity) is not found in its fully developed form in the Scripture. . . . . 'Today scholars generally agree that there is no doctrine of the Trinity as such in either the O.T. or the N.T: . . . .

Again, Hemphill must be an advocate of Dake. Hemphill is anti Trinity! The Bible teaches the Trinity. I will stay with the Bible! Jesus IS God!!!

The BIBLE says: Jesus has always existed. John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (KJV)
John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. (KJV)
John 6:62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? (KJV)
John 8:14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. (KJV)
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (KJV)
