Andrew Wommack EXPOSED

I recently received an email from a man, saying that I "left out a new and very dangerous rising star in the Word of Faith movement and that is ANDREW WOMMACK. Please add him to your list." After some research, I see that he is correct. Thank you kindly sir! I simply CANNOT keep up with all the "wolves" out there. There are just far too many of them! BEWARE people!

The Word of Faith heresies are damnable to say the least! But . . . more and more of today's churches are joining in with these Satanic, FALSE doctrines, spouted by heretics which come from the very Gates of Hell. BEWARE!!!

If you search the Scriptures, you will see that the TRUE ministers, preachers, teachers and servants of God in the Bible were extremely humble and they were the poorest of the poor, NOT prideful and the richest of the rich!

Who is Andrew Wommack? He is the head of AWMI (Andrew Wommack Ministries International), and leader of The Gospel Truth, one of TBN’s latest additions to it’s broadcasting network, and a blatant attack on scriptural authority, among other things. TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network), the largest Christian broadcaster in the world, has scheduled Wommacks show to air once a week. The offer to Wommack was supposedly made by Paul Crouch himself. Wommack boldly denies many Scriptural Truths. Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. (KJV)

Andrew Wommack is a radio teacher who advocates the damnable “prosperity gospel” (God wants every person to be wealthy and never to be sick). He seems like a man who has sincere motives and works hard to minister the Word of God to people . . . BUT . . . his errors are so WRONG that his ministry does tremendous harm to gullible souls, which are many since he is reaching millions in his radio, TV, Bible college and literature. I strongly advise AGAINST any of his deceiving work . . . do NOT listen to him, do NOT read his material.

Some of the stupid things Wommack says and teaches

“The belief that God controls everything that happens to us is one of the devil's biggest inroads into our lives.”

"God does not damn people to hell. It is only their free will that does so."

“Religion teaching us that all our problems are actually blessings from God. That is a faith killer.”

"The only time affliction ever comes from God is as a curse, never a blessing."

The Bible does NOT agree. Psalm 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. (KJV)

Wommack's FALSE doctrine leads to self-reliance. He teaches that since God cannot help we are left to help ourselves . . . hence comes such ridiculous statements as: “You have a tumor? Don’t pray to God about the tumor. Talk to the tumor itself!”

Wommack believes in the damnable “Word of Faith” heresy that says faith is a force conveyed by words that bring about reality . . . for instance . . . if you say, “I think I’m going to get a cold” you will actually create the cold (unless someone else counters your negative words by saying something positive). How utterly ridiculous!

Wommack teaches that God gave man ALL authority on Earth . . . and that God Himself has no authority. This man is dangerous! The reason Jesus had to come in human flesh was to gain that human authority. He teaches that God had limited His own authority by giving it to man such that God was unable to speak Jesus’ body into existence. And so God had to find men to do it on their authority. It took God 4000 years to find enough men with enough combined authority to create Jesus’ body. Apart from the help of men God was unable to create a body for Jesus. What blasphemy!

“When (people) see that some sickness, disease, tragedy comes into their life, instead of taking their authority and rebuking the devil and commanding him to leave, instead they go to God … and they beg God, ‘Oh God please change this situation. Oh God please get the devil off my back.’ And it’s not within God’s power and authority. He gave us that power and authority.” NOT at all what the Bible says!

Scripture is very clear that trials DO come from God, and that God DOES control ALL things.
Ecclesiastes 7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. (KJV)

Isaiah 46:9-11 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: (KJV) . . . To me, God's being in complete control over ALL things is one of the most comforting and wonderful teachings in Scripture. IF God were NOT in control of the sorrows and sufferings in our life, it would be meaningless. And IF God has NO ability to prevent them, HOW can we take comfort in His Promises to protect and care for us? It is absolute DENIAL . . . NOT belief of God’s sovereignty that kills faith! How sad that this man leads SO many astray! BEWARE people!!!

Satan has crept into the churches of today, deceptively and subtilty introducing damnable heresies. Wommack does offer some Biblically sound teachings . . . as do all the wolves in sheep's clothing! BUT . . . IF he is wrong on salvation, then he is wrong on the biggest issue. There is NO Biblical doctrine more important than salvation itself. We are clearly warned in the Bible! 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (KJV) . . . Just as many of today's wayward prophets, Wommack states that he believes salvation is 100% by God's grace apart from all self-righteous works . . . BUT . . . then he teaches salvation by works elsewhere. This is WRONG and deceitful . . . BUT SO many pastors are doing this today, such as Jack Chick, John MacArthur and Ray Comfort. Jesus said what He meant and meant what He said! John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

WHY do these deceitful preachers say that salvation is by God's grace (TRUE) . . . BUT then demand a willingness to turn from sin, make a commitment or change their actions as PART of saving faith? Jesus paid it all. Salvation . . . eternal life in Heaven is simple! WHY do they try to make it difficult? Salvation is a gift (Eph.2:8; Rom.6:23) . . . FREE of charge to whosoever (Jn.3:15-16; 5:28). It does NOT require or demand that we change, just receive Him and accept it (John 1:12)!

Wommack's False Gospel

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (KJV) . . . What does Wommack say? "Therefore, this verse is a promise to those who believe on Jesus to the extent that they are willing to change their actions accordingly and confess Him as Lord (God) with their mouths so that they might be saved." THAT is a FALSE gospel. IF we must be "willing to change their actions accordingly" to be saved, it is NOT a grace based salvation . . . but instead a WORKS based salvation. As with SO many other false prophets, Wommack makes a BIG mistake of putting-the-cart-before-the-horse. Our willingness to change is a FRUIT . . . a result, of TRUE repentance . . . NOT a part of saving faith. Wommack rightly states that "repentance" is "a change of mind" in his commentary on Matthew 3:2 . . . BUT then he perverts the definition of Biblical repentance by adding works. JESUS paid it ALL! We need NOT add anything! AFTER we are saved, THEN we do works! Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: (KJV) James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. (KJV) . . . IF we do not Bring forth fruits fit for repentance AFTER we are saved . . . it is very doubtful that we are saved!

Wommack is WRONG! Repentance unto salvation does NOT need to be "accompanied by corresponding actions." Wommack is WRONG about repentance including "actions." WHAT actions??? Clearly, he means that a person must depart from their sinful living. Wommack's commentary on Romans 10:9 states that a person must "change their actions" to be saved. "Therefore, this verse is a promise to those who believe on Jesus to the extent that they are willing to change their actions accordingly and confess Him as Lord (God) with their mouths so that they might be saved."

If Wommack were right, which he is NOT, then a lost sinner could not be saved unless he or she were willing to stop committing sin. This is known as the heresy of Lordship Salvation, and it is right from the Devil. See our article on Lordship Salvation.

Wommack plainly states that believing on Jesus Christ is NOT enough for eternal salvation. "Changing" one's "actions" violates the plain and simple teaching of Romans 4:5. Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. (KJV) . . . According to the Bible, a person does NOT have to change anything to be saved. God does the changing in us! That's why He saves us, so He can cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Thank You Jesus! Do NOT believe Wommack when he says a sinner is required to be "willing to change" as a prerequisite to salvation. A willingness to change is the RESULT of true repentance; NOT a part of saving faith. Salvation is without works and a man's faith is COUNTED for righteousness (Gen.15:6; Rom.1:17; 4:5-6,9; 5:21; Gal.2:21; 3:6). This is the simplicity that is in Christ.

Every heretic who teaches Lordship Salvation deceitfully claims to believe that salvation is 100% by God's grace. IF they truly believed that God's salvation is unconditionally offered to mankind on the basis of Christ's precious Blood Sacrifice alone, they would NOT teach that sinners must be "willing to change" their life and stop living in sin to be saved. The Biblical Truth is that sinners CANNOT "change their actions" to be saved. Wommack is teaching a false gospel which requires human effort in order to be saved. The Bible says that we ALL are sinners (Rom.3:10,23). Eternal Salvation is a GIFT from the Lord (Eph.2:8; Rom.6:23). Do NOT believe the damnable heresy of Lordship Salvation.
